Bar/Restaurant la Glycine sur Montmelian

My first experience at lunchtime today was a great success. The owners are charming and always smiling. The farm salad was excellent and quite substantial, and the chicken fritters were very good. The Savoyard burger and fries were delicious, and the setting under the wisteria was very pleasant, even in the intense heat. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to trying more items on the menu.

We frequent La Glycine from time to time for its events and particularly enjoyed the evening organized for the establishment's 15th anniversary. A wonderful atmosphere with the band Sentenza, the food is excellent, with a special mention for the superb charcuterie board. The team is dynamic, welcoming, and very professional. A truly great place in Montmélian that we recommend without hesitation. Congratulations on these 15 years! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If all establishments welcomed their customers as warmly as La Glycine... You immediately feel at ease, and to top it all off, the food is excellent. No fuss, quick but efficient service; the staff doesn't have time to get sleepy because the dining room is often full. Homo sapiens, as everyone knows, loves to mock its institutions. Yet, these institutions allowed us to transition from the animal stage to the human stage. Or rather, they allowed us to attest, to certify, that our brain is indeed unique in the animal kingdom. If I'm talking about institutions today, it's to relate to the topic that interests us this lunchtime: the restaurant of the day. And today, the choice fell on "La Glycine" in Montmélian. And "La Glycine" in Montmélian is truly an institution, or I don't know anything about it. And a bear who doesn't know about restaurants simply doesn't exist! Oh, of course, it's not the kind of restaurant reserved for kings, the powerful, or the Montmélian elite. You'll never run into a president of the Republic here (not even without his Henry Jullien glasses), a bombastic baroness, an exuberant pop star, or a society writer in jeans, a tie, and a white shirt. No, in this establishment, you'll only encounter people like you and me. Ordinary, more or less anonymous individuals who simply want one thing: to enjoy a pleasant lunch break. You'll also find friendly, smiling, and attentive staff. But above all, you'll find plates full of simple, accessible dishes. You'll find a menu with suggestions that don't try to be the epitome of oil on a day when the Strait of Hormuz is blocked. And that's why "La Glycine" is an institution! For the sure and unchanging value that too many restaurants have forgotten: knowing how to share a meal with complete strangers, leaving everyone with the feeling that they're having lunch with family in their own dining room. An institution that endures at "La Glycine". Let's hope for a long time to come.

We go there very regularly with our team (professional staff) as well as with friends. The welcome is very warm and impeccable! The dishes are beautifully prepared and we enjoy them every time. Thank you to Carole and her entire team.

Lunch served to clients and suppliers. Good quality dishes, flavorful and generously portioned. Quick and friendly service (special mention to the two waitresses who were incredibly efficient, constantly buzzing around). A little noisy considering how busy it was that day, but nothing too bothersome.
