Bistro Régent sur Avignon

A significant drop in quality, what a shame! We were very disappointed compared to what we experienced 4 or 5 years ago. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was dismissive: I mentioned our reservation and the response was practically, "We don't know what to do, sit over there, there are two seats," even though the restaurant was far from full. The staff seemed unmotivated, our plate was chipped and dirty, the glasses were of questionable cleanliness, and the restrooms desperately need attention. The meat and its cooking were acceptable, but the fries were frankly dreadful: poor quality potatoes, badly peeled, stained, with pieces that should never have made it onto a plate. Leaving the skin on might be trendy, but you still need to use good potatoes and sort them properly. A very significant drop in quality in just a few years. A real shame.

Very pleasant staff, fast service, reasonable prices. I ordered a duck breast, asked for it pink, and it was just barely cooked, but since they have chafing dishes, the second piece became medium-rare, which is normal. Perhaps they could consider cooking it with the chafing dishes in mind. I'm nitpicking, but it's an interesting point; otherwise, it was very good, thank you. P.S.: The tiramisu was very good 😉

Great tartare, nothing to complain about, but I would like someone to explain to me how it is possible to have an identical bowl of salad, whether there are one or four people.

Always a good meal at Bistrot Régent, at a very reasonable price. The meat is good and cooked perfectly as requested, and the unlimited fries are excellent. A sure bet.
