Bistrot du terroir sur Compiegne

What a pleasant surprise this restaurant was! In a setting reminiscent of a traditional bistro, we had a wonderful time! The staff were very professional and welcoming! Despite being quite busy, everything was well-organized! We all opted for the €24.90 set menu (main course + dessert + a drink + coffee), available only at lunchtime. Excellent value for money considering the quality of the food (you can tell it's homemade) and the generous portions. Being practically in the center of Compiègne (the town hall is just down the street), this set menu is very appealing! "Bistrot du Terroir" has thought of everything: as there are steps to access the main entrance, there is a secondary entrance for people with reduced mobility! However, unless I'm mistaken (referring to the secondary restrooms?), the restrooms are not accessible for people with reduced mobility because there are many steps to climb before reaching them. In short, a very successful experience in this unusual restaurant!

We were very happy with our last visit to this restaurant. I've been going to Bistrot du Terroir for over 10 years, and in recent years I'd been disappointed by changes in the recipes of dishes I used to order, and especially by the service (forgetting part of the order, no smiles, minimal service). But this time, what a pleasant surprise! A very warm welcome, pleasant service (young, shy but professional waiters), and we enjoyed our meals. We had a wonderful time.

The staff who welcomed us were very pleasant, I really like the interior of this restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal (the Royan ravioli are truly excellent for a vegetarian dish at a low price!).

A good restaurant with rather delicate and original cuisine. The perfect egg was undercooked, and the fish was overcooked. An amuse-bouche, normally served in this type of restaurant, was missing. The service was very haphazard. The waitress, although professional, wasn't very friendly or welcoming. We were served far too quickly. We had to refuse our appetizers, which were served at the same time as our aperitif! We felt pressured to finish as quickly as possible. Between courses, we couldn't relax for more than three or four minutes. In short, a shame. The setting is quite nice, the cuisine interesting, even if there's a slight lack of precision in the cooking, but the service was a disaster!

Absolutely delicious! The lunch menu is very affordable (starter + main course or main course + dessert + drink + coffee/tea for €23.90). The portions are generous and not skimped on like they are in some restaurants for a set lunch menu. Special mention goes to the celery remoulade with crab and prawns and the salmon tartare.

A fantastic restaurant, unbeatable value for money. Excellent food and service. I highly recommend it.
