Bord'eau , France sur Colmar

We were there on a Friday evening, had a reservation, and got a lovely table on the terrace right by the canal. The two female servers were very friendly. However, we had a male server who seemed very stressed and was curt. We had to wait a very long time for him to come to us; we felt unwelcome and that he really didn't take any time for us. When we asked for a non-alcoholic aperitif, we were quickly offered a Coke. The food tasted good, but the veal was unfortunately extremely tough, and the chicken was only lukewarm. We had to wait quite a while for our food. With better service and organization, this could become a good fine dining establishment.

unfortunately our male waiter did not care for us - which kind of ruined what could have been a very nice dinner right next to Lauch river. When asked if there was a non alcoholic aperitif (god forbid my pregnant wife wants to toast with me) his tone got really condescending and he said "you can have cola zero"?? food was hit and miss. starters were good, but my veal was completely overcooked. for my taste there was way too much garlic in every dish. fortunately there are better options in colmar.

For a Michelin mention restaurant, the food is worthy, but the service misses the mark. We went for the 4-course 78 Euro tasting menu and all the food was delicious and well presented. Sitting right along the canal, the scenery couldn’t be more romantic. But service was incredibly indifferent. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t bad, just very brief and in-engaging. Like they were just going through the motions. Several times I made some light-hearted comments or complimented something, but they only had one word answers. Where’s the engagement? We were hoping for pleasant conversation with the waitress or sommelier, but it was not happening. Perhaps because we spoke English (from Canada)? Not sure. Regardless, take it for what it is. Great food, great atmosphere, but all serious, no fun.

One of the best restaurants i have ever visited! I took a visit to this restaurant while I was travelling through France and took a sleepover in Colmar. I decided to try this restaurant and man it didn’t disappoint. The food was very good and very tasty. We asked the server to pair the food with local wines and they nailed the challenge perfectly. Everything was out of this world regarding taste, wine and atmosphere. We sat by the river, a very lovely place! The only downside was, where we sat sometimes it took the servers a little time to notice us. No big deal and I think I’m actually a bit harsh here. But I need to set my finger down on something. This restaurant is a must visit with very friendly staff and extremely good food. I will be coming back! Thanks for this experience!

The location is excellent, the value for money is great, and the service is warm and welcoming. I highly recommend it.

We didn't feel particularly welcome or comfortable. That might have been due to the language barrier, but the food was completely unappealing. The potatoes, which were so highly touted, were awful. There's definitely room for improvement.

Fantastic food and amazing atmosphere by the canal. Preparing the starter like sashimi was a nice creative touch.

Very nice location outside on the pontoon with some great food. Would have given it 5 stars, however, after the coffee and thee we had to wait for 30 min before we saw a waiter again and could ask for the bill (second shift had started at 9pm) and then the bill itself contained a 65 euro mistake (we were charged a second bottle of wine while we only had one). These should not happen in a restaurant of this calibre. Too bad...

Really great food and service. Starting with the amuse-bouche, which I was surprised to find was a Yorkshire pudding with some sort of coconut chutney like the one that comes with dosa, Yorkshire and India combined such an interesting take so British, but don't fear the rest was not so British 😂 really creative and I just can't stop thinking about the lamb I ate, cooked to perfection so tasty and tender. The whole meal was to die for, a taste sensation from start to finish. Thanks for the Schillinger signature experience at inexpensive prices!
