Boulangerie Sattin sur Rethel

Passing through Rethel this weekend, we discovered this bakery and enjoyed a tasting of excellent treats, including superb baguettes and small sugar cookies. The staff were also very friendly. I highly recommend this establishment and we will gladly return.

We chose to order our wedding cake from them and we have no regrets; it was magnificent 😍 and delicious. The decorations were perfect and exactly on theme. In short, a thousand thanks! 😍😍

Passing through Rethel, we couldn't leave without sugar pie, soft cake, and pâté en croûte, so we stopped at this magnificent bakery with a terrace that seemed very popular! For our taste, the individual meat pies weren't spicy enough, but the pastry was delicious. The white pudding pie, on the other hand, was very good, with a slightly sweet pastry that worked. As for the sugar pie, I was a little disappointed; it needed more butter! And no soft cake during the week, only on Sundays 😭. It would have been perfect on a public holiday, though, especially since there were lots of tourists along the Meuse River...

The cakes were good, including a Tropézienne, but the price bothered me: €27 for 6 people, which works out to €4.50 per slice. I think that's excessive. A saleswoman dressed in a short skirt isn't very professional, especially when she's doing the cobwebs on tiptoe and you can see everything 🤦‍♀️.

What a wonderful bakery! Everything is so delicious, you could buy it all. Plus, the staff is super friendly. I love it. I highly recommend it.
