We just came for a drink and felt like we were bothering some of the waitresses. The welcome wasn't great, with a "ha, just for a drink" kind of thing. If the welcome had been better, we probably would have stayed for a meal. They should have at least offered us a drink and then, if we wanted to stay and eat, a decent cocktail.

A very friendly yet professional welcome, excellent homemade cuisine, and very generous portions. Historic setting, calm but not stuffy, right opposite the gigantic and magnificent Strasbourg Cathedral.

We stopped by with a group of 8 without a reservation and were quickly seated on the terrace.
The service was very friendly. We had the luck that the waitress also spoke Spanish.
The food was good and dispite it being relatively busy the food came in a timely manner. It all looked really good and tasted as much.
The only tiny gripe we had is that the bacon bits on the Flammkuchen was a bit strong and overpowered the rest of the taste.
We were here celebrating a friends birthday and the staff was nice enough to let us bring our own cake. They even gave us extra plates and silverware.
All in all a nice experience. Thanks for making our afternoon a good one!

Very nice staff, food was all executed well and the timing was lovely. The menu selections were not perhaps not the most adventurous overall for French cuisine, but there were some bolder options our group did not select for this meal and overall Au Dauphin offers very solid menu options for the region. The outdoor seating looks like it will be absolutely lovely in the spring/summer- our group was just a little too early to enjoy this feature on our visit. Everyone on the staff was delightful and very helpful!
