Brasserie De L’Opera sur Vichy

I stumbled upon Brasserie de l’Opèra on my last day of a week in Vichy, at the last possible moment I could possibly hope to be served lunch. I was delighted by the unexpected excellence of the food. Really good, fresh dishes prepared with care and taste. I was exceedingly well looked after by the patron and his co-worker, who were both very warm, good-humoured and justifiably confident of the quality of the meals they were serving. A perfect last lunch in this delightful, quirky town, and one to revive my faith in French dining.

Charming chalet-style restaurant with a terrace in a very quiet alley; friendly welcome and perfect service; the dishes are well-prepared and made with quality ingredients; we opted for the €28 set menu with starter, main course, and dessert and thoroughly enjoyed it...

We visited tonight as it was close to our hotel. We do not speak French but the man who I assume was the owner explained the menu. We were made to feel welcome by him and the lady waiter. The food was excellent and very tasty. I had the sea bream and my wife the risotto with gambas. Would recommend eating here.

We had a wonderful time during our brief visit to Vichy. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Guy and Joe are lovely and have plenty of stories to tell if you take the time to chat with them. Thank you!

I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality and refinement of the cuisine, and the charming and attentive service. The location is ideal, and the wood-paneled ambiance is lovely. It's wonderful to be in the hands of people who truly love their work.
