Excellent brasserie with a very pleasant welcome and delicious food

Staying in De Panne and craving mussels, which were prohibitively expensive on the Belgian side, we headed to our neighbors to enjoy these shellfish so in demand at this time of year. We chose "Brasserie des Flandres," no doubt influenced by our Belgian origins; we received a relatively warm welcome from the owner. Bonus point: the restaurant is pet-friendly, which was a welcome bonus given the dog we were traveling with. Once we received the menu, simple, unassuming, and unsurprising, we eagerly began our meal. I opted for the garlic and cream sauce. When the dishes arrived, the owner handed me my (steaming) pot, shouting "Watch out, it's hot!" and had the presence of mind to mock my precautions. All in all, some were small in size, but the quantity was there to sustain us, and that's the main thing, the norm in an establishment of this kind. That's why my opinion will also be normal.

Congratulations to the chef who delights our taste buds with his high-quality dishes; everything is delicious. I highly recommend the mussels, which have a truly unique flavor. Thank you to the owner for choosing quality products and for having such impeccable staff. Everyone is incredibly attentive to the customers. We've been eating there every day for the past 10 days, and we still have 5 more to go. Every day our stomachs are in heaven! For those still hesitating: go without hesitation! The quality is excellent, the prices are very affordable for such high-quality products, and let's not forget the friendliness of the owner and his staff. We'll be back next year! Excellent welcome. There were six of us, and we were made to feel very welcome. We ate very well. The waiter explained that the brasserie had recently been taken over by a new chef, so don't pay attention to previous negative reviews. You can go there...they're great!!!! 👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
