Brasserie Edgar sur Montauban

Excellent meal, great atmosphere, pleasant service. Why one less star? Simply to draw attention to a few points: We weren't given a drinks or wine list (we had to ask for them ourselves). We weren't informed about items that were out of stock, so when we ordered a T-bone steak that was "out of stock" and then duck breasts as a last resort, which were also "out of stock," we were somewhat disappointed. Finally, I think it's important to mention all the components of the dish. It wasn't specified that there were onions and/or shallots in the burger, but they were. My partner, who can't eat them, had to pick through them and remove most of the sauce and cheese... which was a shame. Luckily, she's not allergic; the evening would have ended very differently. It's a pity because we enjoyed our dinner at Edgar's, and we will most certainly return soon, as we still had a really good meal.

Advice to staff: avoid offering mayo, mustard, etc... I'm still waiting for it

Great brasserie, the portions are generous and reasonably priced. The marinated salmon and tuna chirashi is truly excellent, fresh, and very colorful with its various vegetables and fruits, not to mention the delicious mango rice! Go there! You won't be disappointed!

A friendly brasserie serving good food. Kudos to the very welcoming and helpful wait staff, who were attentive to children's needs.

The terrace is very pleasant, perfect for an outdoor meal. The dishes are delicious and very generous, and the friendly and attentive service adds a touch of conviviality.

Very good, prepared with finesse, a little pricey but it offers both quality and quantity. The bill was expensive and I didn't get a receipt because I wasn't at the till. That said, it's a very good restaurant and I'd gladly return. Eric.p

We really like Edgar. It's a very rare decent restaurant in Montauban that accepts holiday vouchers for lunch and dinner. The atmosphere is very pleasant and friendly. The portions are generous. The downsides: the temperature (a central heating system isn't air conditioning), still too high compared to the outside temperature, the lack of innovation (following beer trends, for example, or offering seasonal specials), and the high prices on some dishes and drinks. We'll be back, but we sometimes find it a bit predictable.
