Brasserie Grill Hotel de Ville sur Givet

Very good food, excellent steamed vegetables, simple menu but with hearty dishes. The setting is friendly and the staff attentive.

Cozy place next to the beautiful town hall of Givet. We ate a delicious fresh meal here with chicken and lots of vegetables, highly recommended.

Well located brewery with a beautiful exterior. A first waiter takes our drink order, we order a large bottle of sparkling water. Then a second server takes our meal order. Bad luck we order a shepherd's pie, there is no more. We order a chicken fillet from the children's menu, there is no more but the waiter tells us dryly to "have some nuggets", as he sees that we are not excited he tells us just as dryly "the fillet chicken and nuggets are the same thing”. While we were waiting to be served our dishes we had to ask for our large bottle of sparkling water and glasses 3 times, only to finally see glasses and half a bottle arrive because there was no longer a large bottle. In addition, this bottle arrived opened, that doesn't happen. At the table right next to us we heard that a lady wanted a tagine, there were none available. When so much is missing from the map, the minimum would be to indicate it. The meal was okay, nothing more. For the rest of our stay we will not return there again. Beware of surcharges for terrace service!

We ate on the terrace, at the foot of the stone stairs of the town hall, which gives it quite a character. The service is fast and professional. We enjoyed a tagine.

Ver van de drukte aan de waterkant was het leuk en tustig toeven op het terras. De dag-salade die geserveerd werd was lekker en voldoende. De ijscoupe eerder eenvoudig, maar OK. Bediening vlot en vakkundig. Enige minpuntje zijn de volièregeluiden die uit mini boxjes klinkt. Levensecht en eerst heel leuk en zomers. Maar na een half uur gaat het vervelen en storen.

Nous y sommes allés ce vendredi 10 mai. Installés à la terrasse. Majoration de 6%... Mon mari a demandé de l harissa pour accompagner son plat ... Ils nous l' ont facturé à 1.50. bref c est abusé. Par contre les plats sont bons. Le jeune serveur est sympathique. L autre un peu moins. Un peu l' arnaque au touriste.
