Brasserie La Traine sur Mauguio

I've been eating there for 18 years, and it's true that the catigo is an exceptional dish. I've been making it for 20 years, and I've eaten it about twenty times, and it's always just as good. Never disappointed. I've taken about ten people, and everyone was delighted. Thank you to the team at the restaurant, from the waitress who has been there for so long to the cooks. Keep it up!

After a somewhat cold welcome and a framing of the service so that the dishes were sent at the same time (it's a job), everything returned to normal. Friendly waitresses, decent meal, nothing special. A little expensive.

We had the catigot specialty. We enjoyed it. The waitress was friendly and welcoming. The desserts were really good. And the price of €29 per person, dessert included, is reasonable considering the rising market prices. A pleasant surprise. We were glad to have listened to a couple who were eating there the day before and who recommended the catigot.

A Saturday lunchtime in the middle of summer, it's 1 p.m., 2 tables are taken... But it's pretty much the same on all the terraces. We let ourselves be won over by the €22.90 menu, starter, main course, dessert. The starter is a bit of a disappointment because the salmon and fish aren't cold, but lukewarm... The avocado aioli is better. We opt for squid: nothing to complain about, cooked and seasoned well. On the other hand, the filling :( frozen beans and peppers, frozen fries, barely warm mashed potatoes... And the worst was the dessert: 1/ Poire belle Hélène: a chocolate flan with little taste, a scoop of industrial ice cream, a touch of industrial whipped cream too, and roughly chopped pears in syrup coming out of their hot can... 2/ Feuillantine: a vulgar square of puff pastry, defrosted red fruits and a scoop of industrial ice cream... Meh meh meh in short, we're not sure we'll be back except for the house specialty, the Catigot, which looked appetizing but without having dessert, that's for sure! Special mention for the waitress, who was smiling despite everything.

I recommend it. We had a wonderful time with friends. The restaurant's specialty was excellent. Our waitress, Claire, was very professional, very pleasant, and gave excellent advice. Go for it.
