A late lunch after a doctor's appointment. We came home just to eat, given our past experiences elsewhere. Florian, the waiter, gave us a very warm welcome. We ate extremely well and were even surprised to still find tables where we were happy to pay the bill. Thank you for the respect you show your customers.

Hearty and delicious dishes, a retro-chic urban atmosphere – it's great to have this kind of place in Toulon, thank you! A true brasserie spirit, friendly and responsive service

Symbol of an up and coming town, the chantilly has money vibes and the prices that go with them. Only one star for food as never eaten there. The atmosphere is mixed with old Toulon encountering new Toulon. The waiters with their aprons and attitude (as per usual in France) are definitely not my favourite part of this café/brasserie. No smile and grumpy as if they were utterly bored. I d like to see some cheerful waiters and then I might indulge in a pancake from time to time.

A true French café! The atmosphere is wonderfully pleasant and peaceful, with a sunny terrace and a beautiful, gently murmuring leafy fountain. The cuisine is traditional and delicious. The staff is friendly and professional. I was very touched by the thoughtful touches they prepared for my birthday lunch 🙏 Special mention also goes to the small coffee, always accompanied by a delicious homemade financier!
Well done, Ophélie and Bruno, for reviving this Toulon institution! A must-visit if you're ever in Toulon!

A historic restaurant, with small, closely spaced tables. You eat elbow-to-elbow with other customers.
Friendly staff, but inattentive service.
Good food, medium-high bill.

Far be it from me to be critical without wanting to offer constructive feedback. And sincerity is key to making it meaningful. I don't want to be harsh with you. I simply want to share our genuine experience of our first visit to your beautiful restaurant. So, here goes: My partner had long wanted to try this lovely restaurant, ideally located and peaceful despite its bustling square and the constant flow of pedestrians and cars. The prices are also very reasonable for the quality of the meal. We received a warm welcome from a pleasant person who immediately showed us to a table on the terrace. We were then given a menu in the order we arrived. A good start, which we appreciated. Then, little by little, things took a turn for the worse: the daily special was repeatedly offered to tables, only for us to be informed upon ordering that there was only one left. Before offering it, some restaurants make sure they have more available. Your restaurant, open since 1907, should surely show this courtesy. Then came the service, and that's where everything fell apart. At three tables of two (we arrived first), our dishes, which included a daily special (which shouldn't have taken long to serve) and another dish ordered by one of the other two tables, arrived much later. So much so that the other two tables were practically at dessert when we were just starting to eat. And while the daily special was indeed "aioli," we discovered a visibly incomplete plate. Evidence of this was the presence of cauliflower florets hidden among the beans, and on the table, whelk skewers had been specially prepared, but none of them were on our plates. In my opinion, the delay in service was due to the rushed preparation of the aioli with whatever was left over, hence the long wait. Then came the moment when the waiter asked my partner, whose plate was quite full, if she had finished... When we finally finished, we waited desperately for the next course while the other two tables were offered desserts on presentation trays. When it was finally our turn, the atmosphere changed (the waitress seemed rather curt at that moment. A shame) and she asked us, "Dessert? It's fine, you saw it was at the same time as the other tables?" When my partner replied, "I'll have ice cream," she assumed I would too and told her to bring the menu. The menu arrived, which we opened and immediately closed. We'd lost our appetite. A coffee would have been enough. Then came the bill. Another server arrived to take our payment, and the total on the payment terminal jumped from around fifty euros to around sixty. When we asked him (because he didn't tell us himself), he said, "My colleague has the wrong table, it's not yours." So, to be clear, at the point of paying, I understand that trust shouldn't preclude us from checking our orders. To be honest. My partner wanted to book a table for a family meal because your food is very good and the place is pleasant. However, as the meal progressed, we realized that our patience wouldn't match that of our loved ones and that these inconveniences would have ruined everything. We hope we can return to your restaurant someday and find the service remains pleasant until the end. We felt there was a particular atmosphere with our last waitress, and it's not easy to feel comfortable in those moments.
