Very welcoming and responsive staff, excellent cuisine

We've been to Café Ernest in Uzès several times and, until now, we've always been very satisfied. The service has always been impeccable, thanks in particular to the two gentlemen in black T-shirts, Xavier and Damien, who are consistently pleasant, professional, and welcoming. The brasserie-style cuisine is also a real highlight: the dishes are high-quality, well-prepared, and we've never been disappointed during our various visits. Unfortunately, during our last lunch, an employee was particularly unpleasant. Some of his inappropriate remarks made us uncomfortable and significantly disrupted our meal. Making customers feel like you don't enjoy serving them is all the more regrettable. It's a shame, because it marred a pleasant lunch in the sun on the terrace, in a friendly and welcoming setting where we usually come with pleasure to enjoy good food and quality service. We hope that this is an isolated incident and that the hospitality which has always been the hallmark of the establishment will remain up to our previous experiences.

Café Earnest is the kind of corner café you stumble upon once and immediately decide it’s going into your permanent rotation. It has that effortless charm — the mix of indoor coziness and street‑side seating that lets you settle in however you like, whether you’re escaping the heat or leaning into the breeze with a drink in hand. What really makes it shine is the wine and beer menu. It’s curated enough to feel intentional but relaxed enough that you don’t have to overthink your choice. Whether you’re grabbing a crisp beer after work or easing into a glass of wine as the afternoon slows down, it just fits the vibe.And that vibe is exactly what makes Café Earnest a perfect happy‑hour spot. You can sit outside, sip something good, and watch the world go by — people, dogs, bikes, the whole neighborhood rhythm. It’s the kind of place where an hour turns into two because the atmosphere is just that easy.

This is an excellent restaurant where you'll discover creative cuisine and a warm welcome. We weren't familiar with menus in French, but the waiter was very kind to us. An elderly regular sitting at the next table also helped us very kindly. Seeing that we were hesitating, he advised us to wait for his dish to arrive so we could see it before making our choice. He even told us about the reputation of Tokyo's cuisine, which made us smile. Thanks to the interactions between the restaurant staff and the regulars, we felt like we were getting a glimpse of everyday life in Uzès. Thank you to the entire team and to that lovely gentleman we met by chance that day. Your kindness greatly contributed to making this lunch unforgettable.

Nice little restaurant visited with friends. Very good food, pleasant waiters, reasonable prices. Worth a visit!

On a getaway to Uzès... after a hike... we were welcomed after 1:30 pm on a Saturday with a smile, and for me, a vegetarian, a generous and delicious plate... an address not to be missed! 👌😁

I'm posting my review two months later. I have absolutely no recollection of what I wanted to say… but clearly the experience was good enough that my brain retained just one essential piece of information: “give it 5 stars”. Done.

Very well received, very good food, perfect little café

Dinner consisted of a burger and a vegetarian plate. We had a very good meal in this bar/brasserie (which is probably more suitable for lunch). Excellent service.
