Cafe Caumont sur Aix-En-Provence

A very friendly welcome, a lovely table outside in the garden, and decent food.

The pastries were excellent. The waiter was a bit cold and distant, not very attentive to the customers.

I regularly eat at Café de Caumont. The setting is beautiful, and the dishes are well-prepared and delicious. On August 24, 2026, we ordered the set menu of two salads of the day and two pastries. A very affable, smiling, but somewhat pushy waiter served us our two salads of the day. When it came time for the pastry (raspberry tart), he brought only one tart for two people, with two place settings. I expressed my surprise, as two pastries were ordered. "I can cut it in half; it's almost the same thing," the waiter told me. I asked him to bring what was ordered. When it came time to pay, I noticed that the two set menus were indeed listed on the bill, but an additional salad dish had also appeared. "Surprise!" I pointed this out to the same waiter, who told me there was a mistake; €23.50 more! I had to have the bill corrected and pay €23.50 less. Moral of the story: Everything is great at Café de Caumont! But be vigilant about what the waiters offer you and check your bill carefully.

The food was pleasant but absolutely not worth the price. It was okay, nothing special. As for the strawberry tart, it was truly nothing extraordinary, with too little fruit coulis in the overly sweet cream. €11.40 for a slice of tart?!? The salad was just above average at €24.50! I say no.

We had a wonderful time at the Hôtel de Caumont, where we chose to enjoy the jazz evening in the gardens. The atmosphere was absolutely perfect, the musicians excellent, and the food delicious. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a pleasant evening out with a delicious meal.

Very expensive, but it's okay because you're inside a truly special place. It's okay to go there once for the vibes, but I wouldn't recommend anything more than that.

Secure bag drop-off at the entrance (remember the small fee of one euro returned at the end of your visit), so you can travel light during the exhibition. A lovely, high-quality souvenir shop.

A haven of calm and serenity near the city centre

The setting is pleasant with its central garden. However, it's hard to understand the price of the drinks and pastries, which are quite simple and certainly not worth €12 a slice...
