22/07/2026: I absolutely love these kinds of harbor pubs. Completely unassuming from the outside, unglamorous inside, with patches of plaster crumbling from the ceiling, and it's clear that for years, more emphasis has been placed on the food than on a polished exterior. That's precisely what gives Le Cabestan its charm. The food was fantastic. I had fish and chips with an excellent beurre blanc, fresh parsley, and capers. It was a really nice piece of fish, and the fries were superb. The mussels were also excellent. For a starter, we had the anchovy salad with red pepper and pistou. Fresh, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. Everything served at the neighboring tables, from other main courses to desserts, looked absolutely amazing. Clearly, the cooking here is honest, creative, and skillful. No fancy presentation, no unnecessary glamour. Just a genuine, somewhat rough-around-the-edges harbor pub with surprisingly good food. These are exactly the kinds of places I love.
