Passing through Saint-Malo in August 2024, we stopped at Café de Saint-Malo despite the rather inclement weather. Rain and wind were definitely on the agenda!
We enjoyed a delicious plate of shrimp, had a drink, and finished with a coffee.
The welcome was truly warm and the service attentive despite the crowds and gloomy weather. A great place to remember for a tasty break in the streets of Saint-Malo, with a Parisian brasserie feel!

The value for money is excellent, but the wait for the first course was far too long, especially considering the restaurant wasn't busy. The waiter was very kind and friendly. We would have appreciated a quick clean of our table after the seafood platter. The restrooms could use a refresh and a good cleaning.

A good experience at this restaurant. The food is very good, with excellent value for money. The children's menu is perfectly adequate.
We arrived without a reservation on a Monday at lunchtime during the Christmas holidays and were welcomed without any problems (4 adults and 1 child).
The only slight drawback: it was a little cold in the ground floor dining room, as the space heater wasn't sufficient.

Very good food.
It's a shame the plates were cold; we were upstairs, and by the time our food arrived, the meat and sauerkraut were cold.
The staff is charming and very professional.
It's a shame the decor is old-fashioned and a bit dusty, and the toilets are also very old.
It's a shame not to maintain such a beautiful establishment.

I came for lunch at the end of service.
I had a really excellent meal. The seafood platter was a real treat, as was the sole meunière, which was perfectly cooked. The only downside was the dessert. I mentioned this to the owner, who took it very well and noted my comment.
The service was a little slow, but nothing too bad. However, I could see that things were a bit chaotic with the drinks service.
The renovations will be a real improvement for the kitchen, the dining room, and the customers.
I recommend it and wish them the best of luck.

We had a fantastic lunch; the flank steak melted in our mouths. For a menu under €23, the quality of the ingredients was excellent. The setting, with its Christmas decorations, was very pleasant, and the service was impeccable thanks to the highly professional waitress. As both my partner and I work in the restaurant industry, we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch.

The bill was a bit high, but I think you're paying for the location (within the city walls).
The tables are a little close together.
