Café Jean sur Roubaix

Excellent food, the soup was a real treat…and the chicken with Maroilles cheese was superb. The welcome and service were top-notch.

A very pleasant surprise, a friendly welcome, homemade dishes with quality ingredients – in short, flawless. My only desire is to return and try something else.

Don't be intimidated; there's a lot of talk, but the portions are meager and the prices are far too high for the quantity and quality served.

A warm welcome. The owner was incredibly kind and had a great sense of humor. A complimentary soup and a delicious meal with homemade fries (just like the mayonnaise!) made it a real pleasure to eat there for lunch today. The chicken with Maroilles cheese was excellent. We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Roubaix.

I've found a gem! Jean is welcoming, and lunch there feels just like home. The dishes are exquisite; the three of us tried the Flemish carbonnade, the Welsh rarebit (renowned worldwide as being absolutely divine), and the chicken with Maroilles cheese, not to mention the delicious soup, homemade fries, and mixed green salad!

A truly authentic experience! I highly recommend the Welsh rarebit after the soup (you don't have a choice about that one 😉).

We came to eat following the many very positive reviews and it was well deserved: warm and friendly welcome and service, good food and good beers, I really enjoyed the small welcome soup and the homemade fries, best of luck to you and we hope to return soon!
