Cafe Serpente sur Chartres

The restaurant is conveniently located near Chartres Cathedral, which is probably its main advantage. The food is quite average. The waiter mixed up our drinks and later brought crepes with the wrong filling, though both were eventually corrected. The toilets were not very clean, and we had to wait quite a long time for our drinks, while other guests who had already ordered food seemed to receive theirs much faster.

A wonderful experience at this restaurant! The staff are friendly, welcoming, and truly attentive, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. As for the food, it's simply delicious: flavorful and well-prepared dishes. I highly recommend it!

We had an excellent evening at Le Serpente. Beautiful table and decor. Superb welcome with the dog, and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal with impeccable service.

At Le Serpente, you feel safe and secure, enveloped in a sense of kindness, as if the food is there to comfort you, to whisper that everything will be alright. The precision and creativity of the daily menu are reassuring; it tells you that you can trust it, that it will introduce you to new sensations, that you can sit in the same place every day and have a different experience. The freshness of the ingredients reminds us of our childhood; we can go there, we won't be disappointed, even if the dish isn't our favorite, or even if it's something we dread, something we thought we didn't like. Through the daily menu, the chef envelops us in reassuring kindness, almost making us forget the cathedral standing just 10 meters away. You can feel Le Serpente's determination to refuse to rest on its laurels. No, I won't rest on my laurels, I won't choose touristy idleness; I will pursue excellence by offering a different creation every day. The serpent's message is inspiring; beyond the rigor of the restoration, there's a feeling of well-being, an exquisite interlude that's hard to shake off our routines. When I leave Chartres, that's surely what I'll miss most.

Well... it was the Hazelnut Latte that I really enjoyed. But everything else was perfect too: the fast service, the nice decor... Right next to the cathedral. It has everything you need to make it a great place.

I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is excellent, the welcome is warm, and the service is professional and friendly. The terrace is magnificent, facing the cathedral, bathed in sunshine yet peaceful. The two owners, Julien and Ludo, are fantastic. The chocolate desserts are excellent.
