Perfect welcome. Excellent homemade fries. Exquisite lamb shank. Beautifully decorated interior.

We had already enjoyed a very pleasant evening at Café Serpente on our way back from our holiday in Brittany. But we were especially impressed by the kindness and service of the team after our visit. Our son had left his brand-new shoes at the restaurant. After contacting them from Germany, they found them and even sent them to us by mail, very kindly and without expecting any payment. When we offered to thank them with an extra €20 on top of the shipping costs, they declined and simply asked us to leave a short review. 😊 Truly exceptional service and kindness that we won't forget! A huge thank you to Julien and the entire team at Café Serpente. If we're ever back in Chartres, we'll definitely return!

In my humble opinion, this establishment boasts the best terrace in Chartres, offering continuous service and a breathtaking view of the majestic cathedral. The staff is welcoming and friendly, accustomed to tourists, and speaks excellent English. The terrace is spacious and offers several perspectives of the cathedral. It's worth noting that the terrace can be windy; therefore, it would be wise to bring a scarf or neck warmer. The quality of the food lives up to expectations for such a renowned establishment in Chartres, particularly their lamb shank (although last time it was a bit tough). The desserts, cocktails, and appetizers are excellent. The prices are quite reasonable for such a location. Thank you, and I will definitely return.

We had a wonderful lunch today at Café Serpente, enjoying the terrace with its magnificent view of the cathedral. The location is ideal and the meal was delicious. Our server was very pleasant and friendly. Thank you for this lovely family outing.

Late dinner on the terrace at this establishment. Friendly welcome. No surprises on the menu, but solid dishes. All in all, a good time. The only downside of the evening was the background music. Easy to fix.

Excellent restaurant located at the foot of Chartres Cathedral, with a truly pleasant atmosphere! They close late (midnight), which is super convenient when you want to enjoy the city in the evening. The staff is welcoming and efficient, and the service is quick. The food is very good, and the rare steak is cooked perfectly, which is quite rare and worth mentioning. When night falls, they put up charming little lanterns that give the terrace a soft and cozy atmosphere. It really adds something special to the experience. In short: a great time, a magnificent setting, and top-notch service. Rating: 5/5.

A wonderful evening with an excellent meal; the gourmet salad and salmon tartare were truly delicious. The service was very pleasant, we will be back.
