This restaurant has a magnificent location, and we used to return every year because it was synonymous with holidays. However, over the years, we've noticed a decline in service. The worst experience was today with a very rude waiter who made several mistakes with our order, but that can happen. Nevertheless, reading other reviews, it seems that friendliness is quite rare. It's a shame, because we used to love this place, but it gets worse every year. We're going to find a new restaurant nearby.

I recently had lunch at Café Soleil in La Grande-Motte, and my experience was mixed.
On the positive side, the setting is truly lovely, especially with the sea view. As for the food: the Cocolada cocktail was excellent, well-balanced and refreshing, and the Caesar salad was also good.
However, the service was clearly lacking. The wait was very long, and above all, the servers were neither welcoming nor pleasant, which somewhat spoiled the overall experience.
In short, a place with a lot of potential thanks to its location, but which would really benefit from improving its service.

A very pleasant welcome, our order was taken quickly for a Friday evening with a large crowd and very few servers. Thank you to the servers who remained very pleasant to their customers despite the rush. The meal was excellent, nothing but positive things to say.

Excellent welcome despite the Sunday lunchtime rush. The meal was served quickly, unlike some other places; the four of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Not to mention the friendly service. We'll be back.

The food was fine. I liked the calamari entrée. Everything started out really well, but then the service really slowed down. I waited 15 minutes for my dessert which was a cookie.

Beautiful terrace overlooking the sea.
The set menu was decent.
But the service wasn't friendly.
We asked three times for a bread basket, which we never received. At the end of the meal, there was no attention paid to our well-being, and we weren't offered coffee.
I don't think we'll be back.

After a week of having lunch or dinner at this restaurant, we weren't disappointed. The food is good, the location ideal. We had a tall, slim, dark-haired waiter who did his best to serve us. So yes, sometimes the service was a little slow, but like everywhere else, they're short-staffed. PS: Did you ever find the couple who left without paying?
