Delicious food, excellent value for money, my favorite restaurant in Auxerre.

We ate here yesterday with our children on a recommendation. We received a very friendly welcome. The children's menu, at €10 (potatoes and a delicious hamburger steak), including a drink and ice cream, was fantastic value for money. The regular menu, at €30 for three courses, was the best meal we had during our trip to France. Everything was fresh and incredibly tasty!

🍽️ La Cantina – Auxerre Located on the banks of the Yonne River, this spot is ideal for lunch on their magnificent terrace… but be warned, you absolutely must book in advance, otherwise it's difficult to get a table! We went in the evening at 8 pm (with a reservation, of course), sat inside, and the experience was just as enjoyable. For a starter, I highly recommend the Vitello Tonnato (roast veal, tuna mayonnaise, and capers): a true Proustian madeleine, meltingly tender and bursting with flavor. For our main course, we had a fillet of baked trout with toasted almonds, accompanied by cauliflower purée and a crisp salad… Honestly, an explosion of flavors! The purée was smooth and creamy, the trout perfectly cooked (not a single bone), and the whole dish was perfectly balanced. A refined cuisine using seasonal products, fresh and flavorful. Go for it without hesitation, you won't be disappointed! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A very pleasant surprise: a nice setting, good atmosphere, impeccable service, and excellent food. A place worth discovering.

A small restaurant that doesn't look like much from the outside, but dare to go inside; you won't be disappointed. One minor drawback is the "local" cheese platter; the cheeses aren't necessarily local, but they are nonetheless very good.

Nice restaurant. Very pleasant staff. Simple but high-quality menu. Quick service. Vegetarian options available. I'll be back.

It's such a shame it's only 5 stars! A truly excellent experience at La Cantina, with lovely staff who are very attentive to their customers. The food is exquisite and divine; I highly recommend it!
