We had a very good meal, homemade dishes and efficient service! Plus, the location is very pleasant, right in the center of Auxerre.

The service is excellent, friendly, and very attentive. However, the food from the kitchen is absolutely unacceptable! We had salmon tartare (a sloppy mixture, very fatty, and the kitchen clearly has no idea about seasoning; the potatoes had been sitting in a warm oven for at least four hours and tasted like it) and a ham specialty with Chablis (two rolled-up slices of ham with a slightly spiced tomato sauce). The price isn't really a concern for me if the quality is good, but here—it was a disaster. Enjoy the place with the tower, but not the food.

We dined on the terrace. The owner gave us a very warm welcome and was incredibly attentive to his guests. The interior was lovely, with a magnificent staircase. We especially loved the desserts: homemade chocolate sauce and salted caramel.

17/09/2026: A delicious meal. The chef certainly knows their flavours and is not afraid to be inventive. We chose the aubergine caviar followed by the vegetable tagine and the tartare de boeuf. All very tasty. The creme brulee was a nice dessert to finish off. The Mas a Tierra, a light, refreshing natural red wine accompanied all the courses beautifully. Service was first class and the price very reasonable. A booking is advised, especially for the outside dining areas, but we were inside which actually worked well as we were away from the heat and humidity outside. We can certainly recommend Cantina.
16/09/2026: A beautiful cosy restaurant in Auxerre near the riverbank. Excellent food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. We had a very tasty meal, and a wonderful evening
