Carpe Diem sur Dijon

We had dinner there last night. The welcome was very pleasant and the food delicious. I recommend it.

"Charming" gets so overused, but I can't think of a better description for Le Carpe Diem. Here's everything you need to know: I was the only person speaking English there. Everone else? En Fracais. The hostess and I were able to bridge the linguistic gap with my smattering of French and her grand command of English. My reward? A succulent Boeuf Bourguignon that was melting off my fork, and a sauce that took a basket of bread to soak up. The fresh root vegetables were allowed to show off their natural flavors and were perfectly cooked, being soft without being mushy. Oh yeah, the bill, including two glasses of an excellent Cote du Hermitage? 50 Euro. Yeah, this would have been a $100+ meal in the States. So, amazing food, amazing service, amazing price? That's 5 stars well-earned right there.

This is one the most wonderful restaurants in this area. Service was excellent and food is out of this world - definitely visit this family run restaurant rather than the bigger ones in the Place De Liberation.

We received a very warm welcome at this small restaurant, which I already knew and where I happily returned for dinner with friends. The dishes are refined and beautifully presented. The portions are just right. I wasn't disappointed once again and enjoyed my return visit.
