Castle Tavern sur Sully-Sur-Loire

A decent location with a nice view of the castle. Not the best, but not the worst either.

We had lunch there today and everything was perfect. The salad was excellent, with superb foie gras, the fish and chips were very good, and dessert was flawless. The waitresses were very pleasant and smiling. A great atmosphere in a comfortable and inviting setting. We'll definitely be back.

The quality/price/welcome/service ratio is... REMARKABLE! We were passing through Sully-sur-Loire to visit the magnificent castle when, at lunchtime, we stumbled upon this charming restaurant. The atmosphere, reminiscent of a Scottish or Irish pub, and the dining room cooled by ceiling fans and additional air conditioning, immediately won us over. We received a very warm welcome from the staff and opted for the set menu, which proved to be of excellent quality. The flank steak with shallots was cooked perfectly to our liking, and the meat, incredibly tender, was also very flavorful. The desserts were equally impressive. In short, we had a wonderful time at this restaurant... and our two young grandchildren, who love mussels and fries, would certainly agree.

This restaurant is exceptional in every way. Whether it's for a snack break with a superb beer, or simply for dessert on the terrace with its magnificent view of the castle, or even for a full meal... The food is perfect, as are the generous portions. The service is impeccable, and the staff is especially attentive to the customer. A huge thank you to this establishment!

I'm writing this review. My partner and I had dinner there one evening at 9 pm. We had a reserved table and received a warm welcome—thanks to the bartender! Once seated, we chose drinks, cocktails, and beer—it was truly amazing! We had a huge appetizer platter! It was fantastic! And very tasty. For our main course, we had a superb ribeye steak, beautifully cooked. My husband ordered a burger, which unfortunately was quite dry. The fillings inside were fine for one steak, but not enough for two, which made it dry. However, the dessert was a disaster! The "gourmet tea" included petit fours that were still frozen... I was really disappointed. Now, let's talk about the service. The waitresses were top-notch, absolutely flawless. However, as soon as we arrived, the waiter rushed us to order our meals because the kitchen was closing (around 9:15 pm, we were told). I understand, but at 10 pm, they still needed tables. In short, the food was decent, even if it could have been better! Keep up the good work, ladies!

We had a very good meal. The ribeye steak was delicious. Despite the crowd, we had to wait a little while, but it was well worth it. I don't speak much French, but with gestures and Google Translate, we managed quite well. Magnificent view of the castle.
