An Avignon institution. A reference in terms of events and the Avignon setting. Ideal location in a historic setting in the center, the sound of the canal water on the mill blades relaxes the mind. Warm welcome and numerous concerts.

Very nice bar. The beers are not expensive (between €3.70 and €4.70 per pint during happy hour). Happy hour is offered from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (afterwards beers go to €6 a pint).

On my way back after having a pint. Rode 100km on bike to get to Avignon and this was the first place I landed and the beer was cold and not expensive. After exploring a bit I’m headed back.

Do not miss this place if you're out walking in the evenings in Avignon. Such a lovely setting, and very friendly staff. Could do with more rosé wine options though, this is Provence after all! Ne manquez pas cet endroit si vous vous promenez le soir à Avignon. Le cadre est très agréable et le personnel très sympathique. Il faudrait cependant plus de vins rosés, c'est la Provence après tout !

Restaurant Hiely Lucullus

01/04/2024: Restaurant located on the main artery of the center of Avignon (rue de la République). On the 1st floor of the building, restaurant room with chic and sober art deco atmosphere. It is a couple of restaurateurs who manage the establishment with a masterful hand: the husband from Avignon in the kitchen and his wife of Peruvian origin in the dining room. The marriage is also made on the plate, where the flavors of Provence complement each other with Peruvian flavors. The chef has a lot of talent, the mixtures are subtle: grilled asparagus with notes of chocolate and sweet pepper… who would have thought it? And yet it “matches” wonderfully! No false notes until dessert included! We had an excellent, timeless time. The question I ask myself: why is this restaurant not starred? He fully deserves it
