Cave des Etats de Navarre sur Saint-Jean-Pied-De-Port

A restaurant for eating, nothing more. I ordered a tortilla to share, a paella, and a Basque salad. One thing surprised me: The restaurant's name didn't appear on the front of the building or on the menu. On Maps, the restaurant is incorrectly located. It didn't appear as a restaurant, but as a bar. It's tucked away between numbers 21 and 23 on the street. From the street, it's impossible to see that the establishment is mislabeled (no name). I only found out the name of the establishment when I got my credit card receipt... which was too late. 1) The tortilla came with a salad and a sliced ​​onion. It wasn't too bad, but several lettuce leaves were... wilted, to say the least. Well, it happens... all it takes is for the salad to touch the frosted part of the fridge... Only a few leaves were damaged, but it's not very professional. 2) The paella... meh. Definitely frozen. Not bad, really... it's just that we were expecting something of higher quality. 3) The Basque salad was okay, nothing special. The salad wasn't wilted. 4) The waiter was nice, but didn't speak a word of French. When it came time for the main course, only 2 out of 3 plates were served. After 10 minutes, we were wondering if there was a problem with the Basque salad... no problem, it was just that the dish had been forgotten. And when we asked for some water... it was the owner who finally came to see what we wanted because the waiter clearly hadn't understood. I wish that young man had asked us to repeat ourselves or at least made us understand that he hadn't understood anything; we would have asked him again in Spanish... we're not savages. Conclusion: Not great, and ultimately a bit expensive considering the quality of the food. A tourist trap that gives a minimalist image of the restaurant industry, while at the same time you can find restaurants of comparable size where the owners make a real effort that shows.

Because I didn't read the previous reviews. The place is nice and well located. The food is good, but the price doesn't match the quantity. €15 for a plate with two small pieces of chicken, more bone than meat, and potatoes is unacceptable. The other places might have the same prices, but I wouldn't recommend it for the quality/price ratio.
