Chalet Refuge du Pre de Madame Carle sur Pelvoux

Great place to spend a weekend, great hike starting from the chalet.

Magical atmosphere and location. To truly enjoy this magnificent place, you'll need to stay two days or more.

Incredible setting, warm welcome, good food and breakfast, basic but comfortable room, clean bathrooms. Bring earplugs because the noise from the generator (or other machinery) is quite loud throughout the night. I recommend it!

A nice place to have a drink or a meal. Prices are quite reasonable and the welcome is friendly. The setting is idyllic!

The freshly prepared mixed grill is delicious. A refreshment point to stop at along the route to the glacier.

A good experience, at the end of the hike and before leaving for the return trip. Hearty plates of pasta of the day, a generous slice of mirabelle plum tart. The prices are a little high but given the situation, we can't really fault it. The only criticism is the dish of the day, which for the price really doesn't fill you up...

A delicious and refreshing break after a hot half-day on the Glacier Noir trail with the children (ages 3 and 5). Fast and friendly service. It's a shame that ice cream is only served at 3 p.m. (even though it's clearly stated on the menu). The children were very disappointed not to be able to eat any (serving time 2:20 p.m.). After the effort, a treat: the blueberry tart is worth the stop!
