A motorcycle ride with my partner and we happened to stop at Chalet Regain. We had the veal chop and the chicken leg; I've never eaten such a good veal chop—tender, juicy, and cooked to a perfect pink—and the same goes for the generous chicken leg. The morel sauce with Vin Jaune and the homemade mashed potatoes were excellent. The crème brûlée was very good and original, especially with the marshmallow flambé. I'll be back as soon as my motorcycle takes me to this region.

We chose this restaurant somewhat randomly and were pleasantly surprised; the presentation of the dishes was very refined and original. The service was excellent, and the staff were friendly. We highly recommend it.

The food was plentiful and delicious, but we waited two hours for the first course, and we had a reservation... and we weren't the only ones; there were many other dissatisfied customers. We won't be returning, even though we come to Les Rousses frequently.

The restaurant is very nice, and the food was beautifully presented, but it's still expensive for what you get. The wait was incredibly long, an hour and a half from appetizers to coffee, and we weren't all served at the same time. 😌

Le Chalet du lac

02/09/2026: A lovely lunch at the Chalet! We found the dishes to be well-prepared and of high quality, though quite generous. The service was pleasant, and the stunning view of the lake made for a peaceful meal.
24/08/2026: Beautiful setting. Service was a little slow, but we had a very good lunch. The food was excellent. However, the owner seemed a bit cold and lacked a smile. It's a shame, because the staff were very pleasant.

26/05/2026: A very unique hotel with a fascinating history. The food was excellent, though a bit pricey. Breakfast was very basic. The cheese and cold cuts were rarely replenished. For many, it was just bread, jam, butter, cornflakes, and one type of yogurt, all for €12!
26/05/2026: The food is good and the setting is pleasant, ideal after or before a hike.
