Le Chalet du lac sur Les Rousses

The waiter offered me a taste of the burger with raclette and guaranteed to change it for me because I like raclette but not in a burger. I loved the burger and I have rarely eaten one so good, so thank you very much, great service, very kind and friendly waiter and great food.

We were able to have lunch as a couple without having booked… The welcome seemed a bit "cold" at first, but the manager did everything he could to ensure we were seated in the best possible spot facing the lake and sheltered from the sun. The meal was excellent, the vegetables were very well cooked, and the desserts were elaborate and delicious. The only slight drawback: please refrain from making any remarks to one of your employees behind the bar in front of other customers (it's awkward for me, and I imagine for them too). A lovely place. Worth a visit! 🙂

Beautiful place and very welcoming. However, the prices are far too high, presumably due to the location, and well above the quality. The portion sizes were far too small for bistro-style cuisine.

A very nice place with very friendly staff. The website and menu at the entrance clearly indicate the availability of a veggie burger, which wasn't the case once we were seated. It's a real shame that in 2026 you don't offer any dishes without animal products; we simply can't eat in your restaurant according to our beliefs. We'll pass on this one next time.

We arrived, a group of eight bikers, without a reservation on Friday, June 26th, at noon. We received a very warm welcome and excellent service. Good humor and smiles were everywhere! It's a shame, the setting is pleasant and the presentation is lovely, but you're clearly paying for the decor. The menu is very traditional, with no local produce, overcooked meat, and minimal portions (even the sauces are extra). As for the owner: a cold welcome, except for the biggest customers...

Excellent experience. For my first time, I was very satisfied with the Chalet du Lac. The staff were very friendly and attentive to their customers. The menu was extensive, and the dishes were very well-prepared and generous. Special mention for the pike-perch fillet and the ribeye steak. Well done to the whole team! Danielle Violet

Overall, a somewhat disappointing experience. We had booked for seven people and were surprised not to be seated on the lake side, without any explanation being given. The servers were friendly and the service was pleasant. However, as in many restaurants, we were asked for our aperitifs almost as soon as we were seated, without being given time to look at the menu. No small cakes were served with the aperitif. The response was, "We're not allowed to." Another surprise: for an establishment called Le Chalet du Lac, only one fish dish was offered on the menu, and it wasn't even from the lake. It's a shame; we were expecting a menu more focused on local products. The meal was good, but not exceptional. The fries were rather dry. There was no choice of how the burger patty was cooked; it was always cooked through. Finally, the "seasonal fruit tartlet" turned out to be a milk chocolate tartlet… I didn't know chocolate was a fruit! A more accurate description would have avoided this disappointment. In the end, a good meal, but the experience didn't live up to what the setting and the name of the establishment had led one to expect.
