Take the detour! Idyllic place for Zen relaxation in the streets of a small hilltop village. Excellent pastry and coffee.

Sweet little Salon de The, or Tea House, which is a peculiarly French concept. Most good is created off site, and they usually have no hot food, as there is no stove or oven. Dishes with hot goat cheese may be heated by a microwave, which is fine. Chez Christine is Trés Charmant, in another amazing village called Saignon above the city of Apt. After lunch visit the ancient ruins, and if you a spry, climb up to the top for the amazing view. Be forewarned, the climb can be difficult in places (like a ladder) so those with mobility issues should not attempt. Chez Christine is very inviting under trees which provide shade in the hot summer.

Enjoy a pleasant meal break on the shaded terrace. Little choice, but very good dishes of fresh produce. Friendly welcome despite the number of people refused (we were there on a Monday lunchtime at the end of the season)

Attractive terrace at a good bakery/tearoom. Delicious bread and a nice place to have a drink at the end of the afternoon. The owners are super friendly. We keep coming back.

Une pâtisserie avec terrasse qu'on ne peut quitter ! A part l'emplacement exceptionnel, il faut reconnaître que les viennoiseries sont absolument divines. Le patron travaille 18 par jour et son épouse est partout en même temps. Admirables et toujours souriants. Ils offrent aussi du pain et tout ce qui est nécessaire pour réussir un apéro méditerranéen. Ils réussissent une viennoiserie spécialement bien. C'est un secret. Venez la trouver.
