Chez Christine sur Saignon

The best omelette I have ever eaten. And an equally incredible pastry: “magic vanilla choux”. I wonder how we can do better with so little: it would compete with many large restaurants with the same budget.

Super nice little café in a village worth seeing with a great view of the region. The café offers very tasty cakes and salad plates at reasonable prices. The boss and her employees are very nice. Worthwhile.

Lovely little space in Saignon that opens till late afternoon. It was a lifesaver when we were travelling in Provence as most F&B places closes at 2:30/3pm before reopening for dinner. The owners (?) are friendly and accommodating to our dietary needs - vegetarian, no allium (no onions and garlic). We had 2 huge plates of salad (assiette omelette and assiette du pays) - freshly made and delicious. Our only gripe is the price - I suppose it is quite standard for Provence, but we find it quite expensive (€16/dish). I suppose being in Saignon, taking in the beautiful scenery whilst having your meal in their outdoor space is part of the experience/what you are paying for :)
