Chez Gildas sur Ascain

Very good. Great atmosphere during the holidays.

We dined on the terrace one evening during the Ascain festival. It was busy, but we didn't have to wait; the service was quick, efficient, and friendly. And the food? A delight of flavors, cooked to perfection. We ordered accras and a tartine, followed by a rib of beef with vegetables, duck breast, and fish dishes that were a true pleasure. Thank you all!

We ordered some tapas for dinner and they were very good, the camembert starter was spectacular, and the Basque pate too!! It took us 3 days to eat there, but it was worth it, they are always full!! Highly recommended

Excellent restaurant on Place Berria. We had an aperitif (wine and beer) with Camembert, honey, and walnuts, followed by a Basque hamburger, duck breast, and a children's menu (several choices including fries, hamburger, nuggets, and fish with a scoop of ice cream or a rocket ice cream) with a Dame Blanche (vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce) and a coffee. Everything was delicious, and the portions were more than generous! The restaurant is a victim of its own success; there were only two staff members to handle the service and the till, which made the wait for dessert a little slow, but the servers remained attentive to their customers. They also accept ANCV holiday vouchers, and the restrooms were clean. For three people, our bill came to €68 (very reasonable prices for a touristy area).
