Chez Michel sur Le Portel

I came today and was greeted by a particularly kind and attentive waiter. The service was impeccable, and I highly recommend this establishment. When ordering, I jokingly asked for homemade mashed potatoes as a side dish. To my surprise, the dish arrived with homemade mashed potatoes, the waiter having taken the time to fulfill my request. This thoughtful touch sets this establishment apart from other restaurants in the area. It was worth the hour-long drive, and I'm so glad to see such pleasant and smiling people! 😀

Just a quick stop for the brasserie. Very welcoming. Generous meal and good value for money. Not disappointed.

Very generous, tasty, and excellent value for money! On the other hand, the welcome and service left something to be desired. The waitress did what she could... but that's really not it. We felt like we'd been let down in the dining room.

The welcome was a bit cold and the staff couldn't even recognize the people staying at their hotel. The room cleanliness needs to be improved and a little renovation wouldn't be a luxury. The breakfast wasn't great for the price. And there was no access for people with reduced mobility.

The stairs were very steep and we struggled with our luggage.

Well located geographically (beach 5 minutes away, free parking, etc.) but the room stinks! It smells of damp, rancid, old cigarettes... it's tiny (don't trust the photos on Booking.com...) and the "bathroom" is nothing more than a shower. There's no door to separate it from the bedroom; at least a curtain wouldn't hurt. Friday night was quiet, but Saturday... it's hot, and if you sleep with the windows open, there's still a lot of shouting, music, and commotion outside.
