chez miki sur Paris

Probably the best Izakaya in Paris. A real taste of Japan. My favourite Japanese place since 2005.

Entering Miki's is a bit like entering a Japanese mother's kitchen. We eat good homemade dishes there, traditional Gyoza, Omu Raisu with tomato or Kare Raisu with large pieces of carrot... But also the delicious spaghetti with sea urchin cream with Nattō or Hambargu demi-glace sauce to pan-fried foie gras with sweet sauce, killer! <3 Everything is a treat. The prices are quite high but everything is delicious and a good part of the products come directly from Japan. To discover real Japanese family cooking, this is where it happens. Special mention for the Special Nattō / ねばスペ which is incredible to wrap in its nori sheets. 😍

You can enjoy Japanese set meals. It's great that you can choose two main dishes! Free refills of rice! Boiled sea bream was delicious!

Visited in February 2024 I used it during a 5-night tour called Mont Saint Michel➡Paris. Toward the end of the trip, when I was getting tired of butter-based meals, I searched for Japanese restaurants on Google Maps and found that there were a variety of restaurants in the Opera District, mainly ramen restaurants. I was in the mood for pure Japanese food rather than ramen, so I decided to try this place, and it turned out to be the right choice. First, I ordered some warm oolong tea, and it was served in a teapot, and I was grateful for the owner's attentiveness. I wanted to eat something light, so I ordered the three appetizers (dashimaki tamago, Matsumae pickles, and dried gourd rolls), a combination that you don't often see in Japan, and it was refreshing. It felt like there were regular customers, such as a Japanese couple and a French family group following me. Add white rice at the end for a total of 29€, which seems to be the average price in Paris.

It’s a very cozy little shop. The fish is very fresh and the products are very special. I like it very much. It’s very satisfying. The boss is also very enthusiastic~

A real Japanese, like in Tokyo!! Amazing food, tiny setting but you can book. I'll be back as soon as I can and everyone I brought has become a regular!! The price is absolutely in line with the delicacies you eat, it is not exaggerated.

The fried chicken taste is quite light, the sashimi assortment is very fresh, the beefsteak rice is excellent, it was tender and juicy. While the anguille is a bit too fishy to my taste. Service super fast and friendly Overall it was quite tasty but a bit over priced, in my option around 20 % over priced.

Although the restaurant is small, the food is delicious. Foie gras sushi is a specialty. The eel rice is very special, unlike other restaurants where the eel sauce is very thick and sweet, theirs looks light but tastes excellent. We are also very satisfied with the small “tapas” platter, where you can taste several dishes at the same time. The sea bream head is excellent.

Un vrai délice! Tout est parfait chez Miki, accueil et service chaleureux et surtout la nourriture y est délicieuse! Tout est bon et fait maison (même les glaces!), une véritable parenthèse japonaise en plein Paris.

Small shop, big menu, lovely staff. Not cheap though. Definitely worth a visit.
