This place was recommended to us and what swayed us was the service. We had a bit of trepidation about reserving a table here as it couldn’t be as good as expected… but it was. The server was humorous and engaging… the food was excellent (the bread and garlic sauce pre-dinner was awesome)… Escargots, Salad Tomate, Beef Bourginon, Steak Tartare… it was all really good.
We would go back again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Chez Rene. The food was excellent… we had multiple starters including Eacargots and Oeufs Mayonaise. Tomato and Cheese salad was really good as well. Beef Bourginon was excellent - we split it as it was massive. Steak Tartare was also very good.
What made the dinner was our server. He was funny, engaging and attentive. Highly recommend this place.

We came here for dinner on our first day in Paris following a recommendation from "Les Frenchies" on YouTube.
The ambience was just classic French, very cozy and had a neighborhood vibe, not a tourist trap. Our food was, in a word, wonderful, perfectly prepared, and the service was attentive but unobtrusive.
Conclusion: perfect, we will definitely come back!

Incredible mains. Our Beef Bourgionon and Haddock Beure Blanc were next level. 186 euro for 2 apps, 2 mains, 1 aperol, 3 wines. Not cheap but mains were exceptional. Our waiter understood English if spoken slowly. Service was good waiter was firm not gruff. Beware of the appetizer up sell.

Daniel was amazing! Best service in Paris. So kind and helpful to explain all the menu options. The boeuf bourgignon is world class and the chocolate mousse is the best in the city.

Cadre à l’ancienne, de bonnes entrées (notamment les os à moelle), bons plats et desserts généreux. Des serviettes en tissus dignes de ce nom. Service à la hauteur.
