Chez Rene sur Paris

When you go ask for Daniel- he is FANTASTIC! Likewise, the food is top-tier. In particular, the egg mayonnaise and chocolate mousse are amongst the best anywhere. Also, the bone marrow is HUGE. If you are going to Paris, this is an easy recommendation.

Very good evening, this welcoming, professional restaurant and above all a delicious menu. Attentive waiter with a touch of humor. A positive ROOM, customers, certainly regulars or not, happy to be there. A neat brasserie. An excellent evening Rice pudding is pure joy. 😊 And without a doubt Homemade dishes

Want one of the best meals of your life, this is the place. Had the pleasure of tasting their tartar, boeuf bourguignon and cruises du canard confitte. Heavenly. Finish with their profiteroles or mousse au chocolat, then you have tried the pinnacle of French cuisine.

Came here for the Beef Bourguignon. Fantastic dish. Big serving, 'nuff for two. Had some escargots, but that were ok; not my cup of tea. The services were outstanding; very attentive table waiting, very gentlemenly. The only pain was reservation is required a day ahead for dinner, even on weekday. Very busy.

Made a reservation for dinner at Chez Rene a couple days ago and had a blast. Excellent food and our waiter William was very friendly and offered great service. Will definitely be back when in Paris again! The profiteroles are amazing.

A true Parisian restaurant, with waiters who contribute to the charm of this legendary house. The decor with old exhibition posters from famous galleries gives the impression that time has stopped for a meal. Between a clientele of regulars and tourists, you will also be able to interact with your neighbors. In short, beef bourguignon, eggs mayonnaise, Lyonnais sausage, pot au feu and other specialties have found their home!

This was the last stop of our visit to Paris and it was definitely the best, the food was very good especially the boeuf bourgoignon and the raviollis, the wine was wonderful, the space and the staff were very welcoming. An honorable mention to Daniel who elevated our lunch experience. I'm not going to attendons in Porto.

If you like traditional French cuisine, don't hesitate, you can go there with your eyes closed.

The service is good (although Daniel almost treats you like a dumb tourist when ordering the wine) but the food could be much better. The meat of the boeuf bourgignon is very tender, but the sauce could/should have been more tastier (too much water added in the cooking process) and doesn’t have the usual ‘thickness’. The creme brulee had been ‘cooked’ too long; the eggs were sort of scrambled. Aside from the fact that that changes the structure (granier), the taste is also effected (less custard taste, more egg taste). It appears that they have become a bit sloppy in the kitchen. Apparantly they get a lot of customers who have seen the youtube video if ‘Les Frenchies’ (they ask every non-french customer about it). Well, the restaurant has the looks you might be looking for, but it doesn’t make up on high expectations you might have about their food.
