Chez tonton sur Massiac

Honest cuisine, super friendly staff even for non-French speakers! Our dog was immediately brought water. Then a complimentary bottle of water and glasses were placed on the table. Lovely spot, both indoors and outdoors, in a beautiful little town. And last but not least: the chef! Thank you for the warm gestures; even though we don't speak each other's languages, we understood each other perfectly! Keep up the good work, stay authentic, stay true to yourself!

A restaurant I recommend, the food is good and inexpensive, €17 for the starter + main course + dessert menu, it's hard to beat!

On my way back from vacation, I always stop in a village. Because eating on the motorway...it's not good and it's overpriced. So...I stopped in Massiac in the Cantal region and ate at "Chez Tonton," a small, unassuming restaurant. And what a surprise! Everything was delicious and homemade. The meat and fish were cooked perfectly, and the welcome was warm. The price? The full menu was €17. Simple and very effective, it's not worth €17, but a bit more, I think. Even at €20, I go there every day. At Chez Tonton, everything is good, well done! Thank you, owner, thank you, chef, and thank you to the waiters and waitresses. Future customers, please leave the motorway and support these people.

We stopped by on our way home and the food was simple but homemade, as were the excellent desserts.

During our vacation, we discovered this restaurant by chance and ended up going back twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. The food was excellent: simple, unpretentious cuisine made with high-quality ingredients. We also really appreciated the restaurant's clean, minimalist design. We'll definitely be back whenever we're craving a good steak!

We stopped for lunch as a family during our holiday journey and it was a fantastic discovery! We were all absolutely delighted. The portions were generous, the service was efficient and friendly, and the value for money was excellent. 👌 We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Ideally located, with a terrace shaded by trees and a large car park nearby. In short, if we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back.
