Excellent hot chocolate with its frothy top and a very good Basque cake. The service was a little chilly, but to be fair, it was very busy. Overall, a very positive experience.

The chocolate is certainly good, especially the dark chocolate with cinnamon water. However, a major drawback is having to wait in the street, with the door closed, and then waiting to be called out – not very inviting, which is a shame!

A disappointing experience. An iconic institution in the history of Bayonne chocolate is now resting on its laurels rather than maintaining its excellence. The quality of the mousse and the service have declined (after 40 years of history), while prices have risen (exorbitant for chocolate bars).

An old-fashioned, traditional place with hand-frothed hot chocolate served on delicious toast in antique china. The price is reasonable. It's not an everyday thing, but it's worth trying. They spoke French and Basque (not very common in Bayonne :-( )

A must-visit in Bayonne, I've been going there with my family since I was little. The restaurant has been renovated and is still lovely, although I miss the glass tables. The tableware and the flavors of yesteryear remain true to the original. The staff is always incredibly attentive, thank you!

20/03/2026: Excellent value for money, quiet location. Good and plentiful breakfast. Easy to find, its location south of Bayonne allows you to head towards Spain without being held up by morning traffic!
15/03/2026: Overall, I had a good stay. The room was generally pleasant. A minor point for improvement: the shower head could be checked, and adding a shower curtain would be helpful to prevent splashes in the bathroom. Thank you to Lola for her warm welcome and understanding at reception.

31/03/2026: We went during Easter week with a two-year-old. They treated us wonderfully. The food was very good and the place was lovely. I highly recommend it. The price was very reasonable.
31/03/2026: The lunch menu was very good without compromising on quality, proving it's possible. I had the lamb shank with mashed potatoes, and it was delicious! The presentation, seasoning, cooking, and flavors were all perfectly balanced. In short, excellent value for money. The service team was well-trained, efficient, and very friendly. As for the kitchen team, they were fantastic, efficient, and always served with a smile. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
