What a disappointment since the renovations! The display case is so high it's impossible to talk to the sales assistant. Plus, there's no way to display the chocolates to create a personalized box. I left without my box of dark chocolates, only small Easter chocolates and mixed dark and milk chocolate boxes. In short, I'll go to Biarritz where the presentation is much clearer and the sales assistants are very competent, unlike in Saint-Jean-de-Luz.

We discovered Maison Pariès during a previous stay in the region. We stop by to buy Basque cakes every time we're in town to enjoy back home. They're delicious, and they gave us valuable tips on how to store them for a long time.

He gave me three Basque cakes, I told him I wanted two, one cream and the other hazelnut, and when I got home I got two cream cakes.
The gentleman was a bit slow with the service.

The best pastry chef and chocolatier in the region. The plain Basque cake is the best cake in the world!
I come to Saint-Jean-de-Luz very often, and for me, it's paradise (both visually and gastronomically).
I enjoy it every time.
