I had a lovely time at this tea room! The pastries are homemade, you can tell! There's a wide selection of cakes and chocolates, all in a refined setting with delightful staff. It was practically empty when I was there, I was lucky, but it's true that the tables are very close together and that might not suit everyone, especially if you like your own little world. Anyway, short of knocking down the walls, that's hardly a problem to solve! If you come at the right time, you'll get a quiet little table, and even if not, you'll still have a wonderful time, I assure you. The prices are very reasonable; they could easily take advantage of the decor and location to inflate them, but they're honest!

What a disappointment the croissant was: mediocre, lacking flakiness and butter. Dry croissant. Overpriced for such poor quality.

An excellent place to visit if you're in Calvados! The bakery-pastry shop, À La Reine Mathilde, is a real gem. The pastries are as beautiful as they are delicious, and the viennoiseries… simply divine 🤤 Special mention goes to the flan and croissants, voted best in 2025, a well-deserved award! You'll understand why they were chosen from the very first bite. Quality craftsmanship, gourmet products, and a warm welcome: I highly recommend it 👌

We stumbled on this place while exploring the beautiful town of Bayeux, Normandy. We immediately began to salivate when we looked through the windows at all the sweet and savory offerings. Oh my goodness! We decided on a 3 cheese quiche, croque monsieur, desserts, nuts, candies! They have been voted as having the best Normady croissant in 2025! A charming French patisserie with friendly and accomodating staff. They also have tea service during specific times.

A lovely little bakery and pastry shop in the heart of Bayeux's main shopping street! The window display is beautiful, and the pastries look tempting! The tea room is small with cramped seating; you have to be comfortable being close to your neighbors! The pastries themselves aren't particularly appealing, which is a shame. The croissant is very good, as is the pain aux raisins, even if it could use a little more pastry cream, and the pistachio Swiss bread is also good! I would recommend it for pastries...

RESTAURANT LE POMMIER

12/03/2026: We came here for dinner based off of the recommendation of our hotel and it was a short walk, which we appreciated. AMBIANCE: Upscale, beautiful and nicely decorated with a wood burning fireplace to take off the chill. SERVICE: We were a wee bit late but still warmly greeted by the manager, I presume. When we asked to switch tables we were met with a bit of resistance but we were accommodated, while our server looked on in disbelief. At that point our entire party saw the look of displeasure on her face and we saw the manager lady making fun of us; she surely didn’t think we would see her. When they saw that we caught them they quickly recomposed themselves but we already felt the fake vibe and we could tell that we were 100% an annoyance to them for sure. FOOD & DRINK: We started out with three appetizers of escargot, foie gras and a charcuterie platter with local meats. For entrees, we had chicken, Tripes and sea bass. We had a very lovely bottle of wine but we decided to forego dessert due to the uncomfortable vibe, and they did not hide their relief. The presentation of the food was nicely done but the taste was somewhat underwhelming, and given the price point and the forced service, it was a disappointingly average dinner. I don’t know that I would recommend this place but as always, please support your local small business! 3/12/26
04/03/2026: The setting is pleasant, with a cozy shower and a lovely fireplace. The service was very professional but not very friendly. As for the food, the black pudding was delicious and the presentation was attractive, but the portions were small. Considering the price of the menu, a second slice of foie gras would have been appreciated.
