Very warm welcome, good food and good service, a very pleasant experience.

Delicious, homemade food. Reasonable prices. We recommend it.

We discovered this restaurant by chance because we had a good feeling about the waiter, the small courtyard was great, our neighbors at the next table were very pleasant, the atmosphere was good, and the waiters had a great sense of humor. We will be back.

The restaurant is charming, with a medieval style. We enjoyed our meal and the service was pleasant, but there was a slight downside regarding the optional extras we didn't order that ended up on our plates and therefore on the bill. We didn't order any drinks, just still water, but we were served a bottle of water which turned out to be an extra charge (€5).

The service was perfect. The people were extremely kind. It's beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We will gladly return.

Beautiful restaurant, good food and very good service

While strolling through the charming, narrow medieval streets of Sarlat, we came across a passageway that led to this restaurant, but it was a public passageway. Crossing the courtyard led to another alley. Thinking we were in the restaurant's courtyard, we turned around and were stopped by a waiter who told us we could cross the passageway back to the historic center, which we did. Then, looking for another restaurant, we returned to La Cour des Poètes, as the waiter had been very friendly earlier. There's a lovely outdoor terrace between the two alleyways, but we preferred to eat inside. Another waiter, "Madame Max" [ 😉 ], took care of the four of us with good humor and laughter, at no extra charge! My "mademoiselle fils" and "Madame Max" playfully teased each other, which made the evening enjoyable. The truffle wine aperitif was surprising yet delicate and elegant. The portions are generous and the food is excellent value for money. The duck confit is tender and perfectly seasoned, pairing beautifully with the potatoes. The desserts are original and delicious, which only added to the enjoyment of the meal! Dinner was delicious, and we also had a lovely evening thanks to Max! Highly recommended!
