04/09/2024: Published on Instagram (ericpaname) Return to the Montparnasse district, more precisely at 10 rue Delambre, for a pleasant Italian dinner. Welcome smiling and warm as it should be, I hide in a reserved corner between the room and the terrace. With its traditional neo-Italian brasserie decor, its varied hyper-gourmet menu and its daily slate suggestions, the Auberge de Venise was once the famous Dingo American Bar, frequented in particular by Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway. I start with a piña colada according to the rules of the art, garnished, and it is very appreciable, with crostini and a bowl of pitted olives. An elegant eggplant mille-feuille with warm goat’s cheese (a little too present) allows you to start gently and enjoy one of the wines of the month, a very recommendable Merlot Veneto from the Corte Viola cellar. This will be followed by amazing paccheri (giant tube-shaped pasta, which I didn't know) with truffle cream, zucchini and small shrimp, hearty and al dente, of course, without being stuffy. To finish, a traditional dessert somewhat revisited (because the authentic tartufo di Pizzo, a kind of ice cream, is most often chocolate), chosen from the slate, the limencello tartufo. What a beautiful lemony combination! This delicate “dolce” deserves to feature prominently on the menu. In the end, an addition of around €75 per person for aperitif, starter, main course, dessert à la carte. But there is a complete package without aperitif for €49.90, half a bottle of wine and coffee included… which I will perhaps try next time. Arrivederci!

01/05/2024: The St Pierre fillet was incredibly fresh, the cooking was perfect, the vegetables were succulent and flavorfully seasoned and plentiful. The fresh fruit sabayon was a treat. Stefano, thank you for this dinner. He will remain in my memory. The service was smiling, impeccable and efficient, with very good advice.
