Daniel et Denise - Croix Rousse sur Lyon

Very nice experience of machon Lyonnais. Very friendly service with a course on chartreuse. The chef chats with his customers from the kitchen, a great time!

Excellent cuisine in a charming place. The open kitchen is very friendly, the dishes using local products are delicious and the service is impeccable. We had a very good evening, thank you to the whole team.

We had dinner this March 26 at Daniel and Denise's for a special occasion and we were looking to introduce Bouchon Lyonnais to our guests who are not from the Region. In terms of atmosphere 5/5 we find the cork, small tables, warm and friendly space, everything is there! We enjoy the view of the kitchen and the smells that make our mouths water. In terms of cuisine and service, a good rating: 4/5 even if a few small hiccups prevent me from giving it 5/5. When the wine arrives at the table we are finishing our aperitifs. We ask that my father taste it (a former oenologist, he is best placed to judge this one), and ask for a carafe of water to remove the taste of the beer before tasting, but the waiter serves me. So I hand my glass to my father and ask for another glass of water so that he can taste the wine he has chosen. The starters are great: the pâté en croute is delicious and the eggs meurettes are to die for (even if it's a bit of a shame that the bread isn't served at the same time, I ended up asking for some). For the dishes we are told that it is the end of the month and that there is no more chuck and that it is replaced by Burgundy. Ok, well too bad I then ask what the piece of pork is because I hate bacon and I am told that it is pork loin. Great the piece is not too greasy, we take two. The quenelle is great, the bourguignon too, and for the next two plates we are served with... Two large portions of breast... obviously there was only one portion of loin left and rather than asking ourselves if we wanted to change dishes we served us two plates of bacon… Mine was therefore changed but for my father no one asked him if he finally wanted to change his option. A bit of a shame in terms of service between the wine and the modified dishes, but nothing too serious, hence the rating of 4/5. The only real downside is that the chef is a little heavy-handed with the salt, the spinach served with the pork was unfortunately much too salty, as were the accompaniments (potatoes and béchamel pasta...) It's a little shame, there are 4 of us and we barely touch the accompaniments. For desserts, they are to die for! The floating islands are delicious and the baba is very wet on the table ✨ An overall positive experience 4.3/5 generous portions and a pleasant time.

Beware of the rich cognac sauce served over the steak. It will haunt you. c'est délicieux! And the side items were fantastic. Staff were wonderfully nice and engaging.

Excellent meal served on the terrace when the sun returns. We were lucky enough to be served by Alizée, who was as friendly as she was professional. A big thank-you!

For a palate as undeveloped as mine (a Canadian) this menu was an ecstasy. To date, no restaurant in Montreal has been able to match this cork.
