While strolling through Colmar, we stopped at Aux Armes de Colmar for lunch, given the very positive reviews (and their large number). Our experience was rather mixed. On the positive side, the food is excellent and the portions are generous. The prices are relatively high, but this is justified by the quality of the ingredients. Another positive point is that the establishment has a few high chairs for children, as well as a changing table in the restrooms (which is unfortunately not the norm in most restaurants). As for the negative points, we share the few other comments that have already been made, namely that the service was not particularly welcoming, not to say cold and rather distant (right from the moment we mentioned that we hadn't made a reservation), and the waiters and waitresses (two of them around noon) seemed quite disorganized. Perhaps we would have received a warmer welcome if we had made a reservation… Furthermore, and related to the previous comment, the service was particularly slow throughout the entire meal. We waited a good fifteen minutes before being offered a menu, after insisting (the waitress told us she thought her colleague had already given it to us). We waited another twenty minutes or so for our drinks, as well as the baby food we had asked to be warmed up for a minute in the microwave… The same thing happened with the main course. Therefore, we didn't order dessert to avoid further delays.

We tried this restaurant last night. The food was very good, but the wait between courses was long, long, long... extremely long. I've never waited so long for dessert, over 20 minutes!
