Drole d'Endroit sur Aix-En-Provence

My wife and I ate here on a recent trip to Aix en Provence and really loved it. The menu was interesting with lots of options, the atmosphere was fun and cool, and the staff and owners were great. The "worst" part about it was trying to decide what to order; it's definitely one of those places where you wish you could have a little bit of everything. The wine selection was also excellent. I flagged the owner down at one point to ask a question about local wines and he jumped right in to take care of us, letting us try a few wines before making our decision. I really appreciate it when an owner is so hands on with everything. Our French is terrible but everyone spoke great English. I'd recommend a reservation but they seated us without one. It's a great place to treat yourself after exploring the Luberon or hiking around Sainte-Baume. Highly highly recommended.

Visited for my 50th birthday. This place is very Tim Burton - so cool. The cocktails and food were delicious, the staff were lovely. It's one of those tucked away places that I partly want to tell everyone to go to and partly want to keep the secret to myself! Also good to have some imaginative vegetarian options

The restaurant is somewhat hidden and not the easiest to find. I had an excellent sesame-crusted tuna here. It melted in my mouth. The wine recommendation was also a perfect match for the fish. For dessert, I had a caffè gourmande. The four desserts were also very good. The pistachio cream deserves special mention. Reservations are highly recommended.

What a unique place. It's quite hidden away in the alleys of Aix but once you find it you'll be itching to go back! I loved the intererior vibe, high ceilings and lots of quirky decor. We were were with a big group of colleagues to which they were more than happy to accomodate. We had booked in advance to avoid dissappointment. Our drinks orders were swifly taken and then our food, I can't remember the menu setup but many of us had either two or three courses. Some of the dishes being quite unique such as the crab creme brulee and the chorizo tiramisu, loved the twists to these dishes but I wasn't brave enough to try them so I kepy it simple and went for the terrine. Everyone seemed happy with their choices and for me I was very happy with my main of Lamb, really well cooked and paired with great vegetables. No complaints from me. My only minor criticism is of the apple crumble which unfortunately, coming from England, it was a mistake to get this dish because we do it significantly better than the French (sorry!) so next time for dessert I'll be ordering something a bit more French! Overall an excellent dining experience which I would very much recommend to small and big groups alike. I will definitely be coming again!

It's simple, we had a wonderful meal. Everything was perfect. The food and the service were outstanding, the staff always had a smile on their faces. We'll be back in the evening for another great time.

A wonderful discovery. The setting is peaceful, allowing you to dine in tranquility, far from the usual hustle and bustle. The staff is incredibly attentive and the food is excellent. A sure bet for a relaxing getaway.
