Le Petit Verdot sur Aix-En-Provence

We had an absolutely delicious dinner at Le Petit Verdot — among the highlights were a lovely lemon artichoke soup, a daube (Provençal stew) that was truly memorable, and a solid wine selection. This is a cozy bistro, everything made in house, the host / chef was kind and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Great restaurant in the center of Aix!!!

If there is one restaurant in Aix en Provence that you need to try, it is this one. I can’t begin to express the incomparable and unparalleled passion in gastronomy that I saw in Matthieu who is the chef here. He is so passionate about the food he paints in his kitchen and the service, that he single handedly kept his restaurant going for 4 months just on his own so people can experience his art through his food. The food is a testament to the best local ingredients the region has to offer. The wine he suggested and the dish he made for us was THE PERFECT MEAL! I would give this place 10 stars if I could!!! Try it and you will know what I mean. From the service to the presentation to the memories the food gives you. And the decor is incredibly charming. And last but not the least, the crème brûlée. In a place known for Lavenders, I don’t think I have ever tried or immensely enjoyed a crème brûlée as I did here with a hint of lavender!!

We stumbled upon this place almost by chance. A very good dinner, a bit pricey, but incredibly flavorful. A very friendly atmosphere. The waiter was everywhere and did a great job. A pleasant surprise!

A small restaurant that surprises at first glance with its unusual storefront. Excellent cuisine and a warm welcome. The dishes are original and very well prepared. A big congratulations to this young restaurateur who takes on everything from the front of house to the service and also in the kitchen. We will gladly return.

We had a wonderful evening with friends and our families; there were nine of us. The service was attentive and clearly aimed at creating a memorable experience. The food was of very high quality and prepared with care. The recommended wine paired perfectly with our preferences and the dishes. Even though there were nine of us, we ordered different things, but the result was always the same: pure pleasure with every bite. Bravo, bravo, and bravo for managing such a high level of service while working alone!
