El Piquero sur Dax

Passing through for the Dax festivities, I came with a friend. The duck breasts were delicious, as was the accompanying porcini mushroom sauce, and the service was impeccable. I highly recommend it; a great place in Dax. Maybe see you next year! 👋🙂

Don't be fooled by the exterior, because inside the experience is well worth the trip! The staff is fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal! (Bonus points for the drawing board where we sketched at the end of our meal and shared a pleasant moment 🐢)

We had lunch at this restaurant as a family on May 17th. The atmosphere and decor revolve around the feria! We chose the €35 set menu (including for my 8-year-old daughter), and it was very generous, but we thoroughly enjoyed it! The very friendly waitress gave us containers so we could take the leftovers home! If you like good local cuisine, I highly recommend this restaurant! I thank the waitress and the chef for their warm welcome! We now have a new favorite spot for great food in Dax! We will probably return to your establishment when we are back in your region!

A truly excellent restaurant. The waitress and chef were incredibly kind. The chef even came to chat with the customers and ask if they were enjoying their meal. The food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend it and thank them for the warm welcome.

Great restaurant with Basque specialties, we ate very well with homemade cuisine, an atmosphere with Basque songs playing at leisure and the decor totally immerses you in the Basque world.

We were a little disappointed compared to the rating on this website. The dishes were okay, nothing special... and the prices were much higher than those listed on the menu. €19 for the Landes salad instead of €16, €19 for the sweetbreads instead of €27, €7 for the pastries of the day instead of €6, and no red wine by the glass; we had to order a 37.5cl bottle for €16. In short, almost €35 per person, including a bottle of water and a coffee. We thought it would cost a maximum of €25 each.

A friendly chef who doesn't hesitate to come out of the kitchen to check on the customers, and a genuinely charming waitress. The meat is excellent and the decor is typically Basque. Right down to the music 🎶 I highly recommend it 👍🏼

Honestly, a fantastic experience. Delicious food, excellent value for money. It was incredibly quiet on a Saturday night, which is baffling! Go without hesitation!
