Fabrique de Macarons sur Saint-Emilion

We made a quick stop here as we were leaving town. Although they are known for macarons, we stoped in for canelés. They were delicious! If we had known how much we would enjoy them, we would have bought more! 😁 Also, the woman who helped us was very sweet and helpful considering our language barrier. Next time we will get both the macarons and canelés!

The real ones, the only ones, the unique ones are Nadia Fermigier's macaroons. She has the real recipe. I'm from Saint-Emilion myself. I was fooled, thinking they were the same. I bought some in another shop, absolutely nothing to do with them. They keep poorly and the taste, let's talk about it, it wasn't the same at all.

An institution! A must-see when you are in Saint-Émilion, it is THE original store for its famous macarons (which can sometimes be found elsewhere and as far away as Arcachon, but not at boutique prices) offered in various box formats. They are super good!

Don't miss the almond macarons recipe from the year 1620 ! And the big canelés ! Delicious and very friendly couple keeping tradition alive !

Each time you visit Saint-Émilion, it’s impossible to resist the macaroons! An essential little treat, at the same time soft, melting and delicately sweet. It has become a ritual: a macaroon (or several!). Always a pleasure, never disappointed.

Well, the taste of these cakes, in my opinion, is overrated, but let’s pay tribute to tradition. Plus they make good souvenir gifts from around here.
