This traditional Lyonnais restaurant serves delicious local cuisine in a charming, intimate setting. The place is quite small and fills up quickly, so making a reservation is definitely recommended.
One of the things I appreciated most was the value for money. They offer set menus for around €30, which is very reasonable considering the quality of the food and the generous portion sizes.
Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. My favorite dishes were the œufs en meurette, the steak tartare, and the chocolate cake. The steak tartare was outstanding—easily one of the best I’ve ever had. The steak itself was enjoyable and cooked as requested, although it was a little chewier and less tender than I had hoped. On the other hand, the fries were absolutely fantastic and paired perfectly with the meal.
To finish, the chocolate cake was the perfect ending to a great dining experience.
Overall, A Ma Vigne delivers exactly what you want from a traditional Lyonnais bouchon: authentic food, generous portions, excellent value, and a warm atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Lyon.
09/06/2026: A delicious chef's terrine, andouillette gratin 😋, cervelle de canuts (a cheese spread), and a complimentary digestif. A very good Lyonnais bouchon (traditional Lyonnais restaurant). I highly recommend it. The welcome was top-notch; coming from the north, we weren't disappointed. We'll be back! 😊
