A warm welcome from two waitresses. Comfortable space and a veranda opening onto the outside. A menu featuring ingredients worthy of the region. And the Munster and Gruyère-type cheeses are meltingly delicious and have a floral aroma.

Very good, but we paid for four adult menus instead of children's menus. The mistake was theirs, as they asked me to pay extra for my son's dessert, which wasn't included in the children's menu. I said okay. The result was €100 for two children and one adult... very bad faith. We won't be back.

We (two couples) happened upon this inn/farm by chance while driving past. From the outside, we were greeted by the beautiful floral decorations on the building, and the landlady and staff were very friendly and even spoke excellent German. The food (venison) was excellent. And sitting under the linden trees was relaxing. Thank you, it was lovely, and we'll be back, perhaps even staying overnight.

15/01/2026: Lunch on a winter's day after a hike in the snow is the perfect break in the heart of the Alsatian countryside at the Auberge de la Rothlach, perched on the heights of Hohwald, 45 minutes from Strasbourg. The former forester's lodge, with its simple rustic charm—exposed beams and a well-heated interior—invites you to relax. The welcome is warm and the staff are friendly. Alsatian specialties are served at very reasonable prices (expect to pay around €20-25). They also sell local products such as honey. Please bring cash as credit cards are not accepted. Reservations are recommended. For your convenience, there is ample free parking, pets are welcome (perfect for a walk with the dog), and the inn is open year-round except on Mondays.
