Great atmosphere, we were there last night for dinner. Our waiter, Amaury, made our time very pleasant; he was friendly, efficient, and charming. We'll be back...

Almost flawless. Superb food, a warm welcome, and a professional and smiling waitress and waiter. It's a shame the manager who took over at the end of the meal was less so…unfriendly is unfortunately the right word. But the experience was still wonderful.

In a city like Lyon, where food is taken seriously, it takes something special to stand out. CasaBea manages it — not through excess, but through balance. The food is clean, confident, and well judged. Dishes arrive with a sense of restraint — nothing overworked, nothing trying too hard — just good ingredients treated with care. The beef, in particular, was a highlight; delicate, flavourful, and handled with a lightness that lets it speak for itself. It’s the kind of menu that feels considered rather than crowded. The room plays its part too. Warm lighting, a gentle hum of conversation, and a space that feels intimate without being closed in. There’s an ease to it — somewhere you can settle into, whether it’s a long dinner or a quieter, more reflective meal. But what ties it all together is the service. There’s a quiet attentiveness throughout — present without hovering, polished without ever feeling formal. Timing is instinctive, recommendations feel genuine, and there’s a natural warmth that makes you feel genuinely welcomed. It never becomes transactional, which in a city like this, is saying something.Our server was attentive, kind and was respectful enough to allow us try our best with our French. He was genuinely the most polite and authentic server . CasaBea isn’t trying to impress you. It simply knows what it’s doing — and that confidence carries through every part of the experience.

Overall, the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the decor is truly beautiful. However, a few things prevented us from awarding it 5 stars. Firstly, the prices are quite high considering the portion sizes. Secondly, I had a disappointing experience with my ribeye steak, which was excessively tough, something the waiter himself acknowledged when he went to point out! The manager's response: "Others usually like it, I'm surprised"... That's beside the point! The fact remains, I don't care what others think. Without wanting to change the subject, we could at least have expected a small gesture (a coffee, a digestif...), but nothing at all... and to top it all off, at the end of the meal, the desserts from the next table had ended up on our bill... luckily, we were vigilant... In conclusion, it's a pleasant place, but a little more attention to customer service and a few gestures of goodwill would really make a difference!

Sunday evening, 3 colleagues, a quiet table, very good meal, dessert too, music on the terrace. Quite expensive.
