08/09/2024: Historic bakery with excellent sourdough bread + homemade cakes to recommend

07/09/2024: The food and service were great. The atmosphere is just crazy however - it’s a tiny bakery and there’s only enough room for a single file queue and there’s tons of dirty looks and snide comments as you go past even though you tried to excuse yourself. When we were eventually served, the lady was very patient and accommodating to us and it was a positive experience. We loved the almond allumette pastry and the maquis cake which the bakery is famous for, really soft and moist made of chestnut, honey and some kind of orange like citrus. It was lunchtime and many customers were ordering the savouries. We would happily come back here (maybe earlier in the day!)
